Bridging the Digital Divide for Nova Scotia’s Students

The Nova Scotia Tech in Education Society ensures every student has the technology they need to learn, grow, and succeed—no matter their circumstances.

About Nova Scotia Tech in Education Society

The Nova Scotia Tech in Education Society (NSTES) was founded on a simple belief: no student should fall behind because they lack access to technology.

In today's classrooms, a computer or tablet is not a luxury—it is a fundamental tool for learning, researching, and connecting. Yet, many students across our province face a digital divide that limits their potential. We exist to close that gap.

How We Work

Our model is direct, efficient, and community-focused. We remove the red tape to get technology into the hands of the students who need it most.

1. Fundraising

We partner with local businesses and community members to raise funds for technology access.

2. Procurement

We purchase the necessary technology—laptops, tablets, and essential accessories.

3. Distribution

We provide these devices directly to school principals across Nova Scotia, starting in Woodlawn NS and growing from there.

4. Empowerment

Principals identify students with the greatest need. The devices are given to these students obligation-free, with no means testing required.

Community Focused

We start in our community, grow our reach from there.

Direct Impact

Not a vague credit system. Technology: delivered.

No Means Testing

Means testing can be well-intentioned, but overlooks many circumstances

Why Principals?

Teachers and principals know their students best. By trusting educational leaders to identify need, we eliminate invasive application processes and ensure help reaches the right desks quickly and quietly.
